A few tips to avoid bruising:
• Drink plenty of water in the days leading up to to your appointment
• Avoid taking blood-thinning medications and supplements, such as aspirin, ibuprofen, and vitamin E, for at least one week before treatment
• Avoid alcohol for at least 24 hours before the treatment

• We’ll cleanse your skin, and apply a numbing gel (if you opt for one)
• The appropriate units of Botox will be carefully injected into the targeted areas on your facial skin using extremely thin needles. You might feel a pinch, but there’s no pain or discomfort

You may resume your daily activities and work immediately after the treatment, however a few things to keep in mind:
• Avoid strenuous workouts, saunas, hot showers, and facial massages for 4-6 hours
• Avoid facials and facial muscle manipulation for 48 hours after treatment
• Avoid direct sunlight on the treated areas for 24 hours
• You will begin to see results within a few days, with full results expected at day 14, which will gradually fade over 3 to 4 months, following which you need maintenance treatments

Botox will make your skin look smoother and more youthful after a few days, with continued improvements for 2 weeks. The wrinkles will start fading after a few days, but it takes 2 weeks for the results to be finalized. The final results last for 3 to 4 months.

Botox is a perfectly safe treatment without harsh side effects or complications. Most patients experience mild redness, swelling, tenderness, and bruising around the treatment area. But you can resume swelling with ice packs. The side effects should dissipate within a few days.
